Sharon is a native of Mobile, AL. Her artistic talent was first noticed when she won a coloring contest at the tender age of four. In her formative years, she spent many Saturdays accompanying her grandmother Bessie Ruth—an educator and arts and crafts enthusiast—to Culture in Black and White, a program that brought the arts to children in the local community.

In middle school, she blossomed under the instruction of Kay Daughdrill, winning the PTA Reflections art competion on the regional level in 6th grade. While in high school, she was fortunate to be taught by Linda Holman for four amazing years, completing coursework in AP Studio Art and receiving a portfolio score of 4 out of 5 on her portfolio. In college, she discovered her love for photography while continuing to develop her technical artistic skills.

She has been a freelance illustrator and photographer for several years.

In her free time, she enjoys reading, science fiction, visiting museums, researching her genealogy, and spending time with her family.
